چکیده

Abstract We consider a lattice gas interacting by the exclusion rule in the presence of a random field given by i.i.d. bounded random variables in a bounded domain in contact with particles reservoir at different densities. We show, in dimensions d ≥ 3, that the rescaled empirical density field almost surely, with respect to the random field, converges to the unique weak solution of a non linear parabolic equation having the diffusion matrix determined by the statistical properties of the external random field and boundary conditions determined by the density of the reservoir. Further we show that the rescaled empirical density field, in the stationary regime, almost surely with respect to the random field, converges to the solution of the associated stationary transport equation.

The Relaxation-Time Limit in the Quantum Hydrodynamic Equations for Semiconductors

The relaxation-time limit from the quantum hydrodynamic model to the quantum drift-diffusion equations in R3 is shown for solutions which are small perturbations of the steady state. The quantum hydrodynamic equations consist of the isentropic Euler equations for the particle density and current density including the quantum Bohm potential and a momentum relaxation term. The momentum equation i...

Steady detonation problem for slow and fast chemical reactions

Two sets of hydrodynamic equations for a mixture of four gases undergoing a bimolecular chemical reaction are discussed. The former consists in a system of balance laws for the case of a chemical relaxation time of the same order of the macroscopic processes (slow reaction). Conversely, the latter is a system of conservation laws for the case of short chemical relaxation time (fast reaction). A...

A parallel block iterative method for the hydrodynamic device model

Block iterative methods are applied to hydrodynamic simulations of a one-dimensional (1-D) submicrometer semiconductor device. We show that block successive underrelaxation (SUR) converges with a fixed relaxation factor w = 0.13 for simulations at 300 K and w = 0.04 at 77 K . To demonstrate the robustness of the block iterative method, we present numerical simulations of a steady-state electron...

بررسی رفتار تاندون ها و سکوی پایه کششی در حالت صدمه دیده

This paper evaluates the hydrodynamic performance of a damaged ISSC TLP which is caused by a tendon disconnection. Performance evaluation of a TLP with a disconnected tendon in a rough sea state is the major aim of this paper. First off, modeling of a platform in a proper sea state is carried out and then after disconnecting one of the tendons, the transient effect on the other tendons is asses...

Dynamics of Strongly Deformed Polymers in Solution

– Bead spring models for polymers in solution are nonlinear if either the finite extensibility of the polymer, excluded volume effects or hydrodynamic interactions between polymer segments are taken into account. For such models we use a powerful method for the determination of the complete relaxation spectrum of fluctuations at steady state. In general, the spectrum and modes differ significan...
